About

I am a lover and maker of lace.  I design patterns with a particular interest in replicating snowflakes in lace.  More recently, my work has been about exploring new ways to use lace in design.

My speciality is a lesser-known type of shuttle lace which deserves to be celebrated and why I was keen to use this particular lace in my projects, although I love all lace.  In conceiving other objects made of lace - such as furniture and furnishings - it matters to me to create designs that transform a solely decorative fabric into tangible, practical objects so that more people can enjoy lace in their lives.

"We’re particularly fond of Joëlle Paulson’s covetable ‘SoLace Chair’, with a steel frame and handmade lace, which is pretty, practical and skillfully made."

"I see myself as bridging traditional with modern and want to continue to explore new ways to use lace in contemporary design."
